God... Another talk show??? Do you think we need that, Phetta?! Huh!!?! Maybe not... But I want to do it more as a way for me to get better at talking to people and sharing my thoughts. I have a few different ideas for the overall show plan, and I have definitely changed some of those ideas too. Let me walk you through the history so far.
So I thought, how can I create a show that holds the true essence of the Phettaverse, but also allows me to share who I am. I typically hide behind a character, but I think I have a lot to show for myself as well. It's a fun dynamic to play on, I think. Growing up, I watched a lot of Eric Andre, and I have always wanted to make a show of similar essence, just the chaotic feel, and unsettling vibe are my favorite. But translating this into a 3D scene, as a one-man show. You can tell I had too much cereal that day.
So it was back to the drawing board... How do I speed up the process of creating these episodes, as spending most of the time green screening my footage seemed like a setback.
The drawing board of course, leads to getting distracted, but I think this was a good distraction. I started leaning towards the idea of being able to have a virtual space that I simply enter and record and have ready footage. this obviously came with a couple of other ideas, a studio set people could visit virtual, for example, which I created with the help of DankVR! Which also led me to find an amazing community! I stumbled upon M3 and what they are creating and learned a lot since entering that space.
In M3, there are some amazing creators and builders, some of them being lasershark, A, Dr. Doge, 7OROY, Jin, & Boombox head among other amazing people that I've talked to the most so far, great people and very smart as well. It's that silly feeling of fitting in eh?
Which led us to the final idea of the Phetta At Night Show. I guess you could say the current version, and what I have the most faith in. I have been watching a lot of Therapy Gecko, and Healthy Gamer GG, I enjoy the idea of just talking. one on one, showing who we really are and what we think. It doesn't need to be serious unless we want to get onto deep thoughts of the universe, I am happy to listen you know? I'm all fuckin ears, baby!
This leads me to my Boomboxhead shout out of course. This dude has been an OG of OG for virtual production... Do you see that? I started calling it virtual production instead of making a show mixed with real-life and 3D.. You start learning things when you actually connect with people! Pretty badass. But back to the shout out, great guy, and he is very smart with what he is creating and fleshing out. You can find his SDK that breaks down his full virtual sets! linked here.
This is where I have been led. The goal is simple, really. Creating a virtual set within VRChat and allowing guests to enter my studio with a virtual avatar or through a video feed through TV Man's head is the goal. The show is called Phetta At Night. and I am here to provide good vibes and ask how is life? How are you doing TODAY? Maybe we can talk about NFTS, but let's not stress each other out, you know? I wanna hear about you.
I believe I will need to get a bit of help from Boomboxhead regarding using the camera system he has laid out within the new SDK, but a good test so far. My main struggles are going to be having the camera system a bit easier for a one-man show. The great thing about Boomboxheads system is that it helps with exactly that as well as some amazing controls.
Once I get the camera system laid out I'll have to play around with getting a video feed into the scene for people that may want to do webcam experience instead of vrchat, but possibly I can just record the footage of me talking in the studio during the webcam experience and edit it in post-process in some sense. Will need to think that bit out a bit more.
I know a few people asked where the show is and what my plans are, so I thought creating this quick blog post might give some people a little insight as well!
