Art, Smoothies, and Self-Discovery: My New Life in New York

Date

As most of you know, I recently moved to new york maybe 5-6 weeks ago. It has been amazing so far, I really feel like I am pushing myself to be more outgoing and take care of my health. In Arizona I would honestly just sit at home in a dark room working on art all day, which realistically did get me where I am today, but there’s only so much inspiration you can grab from yourself alone in a room.

Lately, I have been stepping out of my house, which feels quite different. It can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, but I have already observed the positive impact on my mental well-being. Currently, I am still trying to strike a balance between spending time with my friends and focusing on my art, but overall, I am enjoying this experience. I believe that I deserve to spend time with my friends and appreciate my present state, considering that it is quite incredible when I reflect on it.

New York has a thriving art scene that constantly challenges and inspires me. From the numerous galleries, museums, and street art, there’s always something new to discover. I’ve found that being surrounded by such a diverse array of creative expression has helped me expand my own artistic horizons and push the boundaries of my work. Attending art events and connecting with other artists in the city has also been an invaluable experience, opening my eyes to fresh ideas and perspectives.

I wish I was better at putting into words my happiness for where I am today, I’ve mentioned in previous blog posts that I def struggle with being aware of the things I accomplish, but being in New York has been making me a lot more aware of what I do and how I shouldn’t be negative thinking constantly.

Currently, I am in the process of 3D printing a cover for my Air Pods Max. I was inspired by the work of artist yalocaloffgod, who created various versions of the cover featuring their own characters. Taking inspiration from them, I decided to create my own unique design. For breakfast this morning, I prepared an espresso with honey and a smoothie made with berries, agave syrup, Greek yogurt, coconut water, acai, chia seeds, and my brother’s brain tonic. I have also joined the smoothie community and invested in a Ninja blender, which makes me feel quite sophisticated.

I found a unique and entertaining way to raise funds for a new couch for my apartment. With the help of the community, I was able to secure one through crowd funding. As a reward, everyone received a stylish couch character to use in the Metaverse.
