Hello friends! I am back with some amazing news! It seems we have got ourselves set up quite nicely for the virtual Phetta at night set! Once again big thank you to Boomboxhead for providing his Vtuber Studio set project package. Using this package we have a very easy plug-and-play virtual studio set that allows me to bring on guests either with them live on the set or via webcam and discord green-screened into the set! I would love to break it down a bit for you below.
So the first thing I had to think of was of course being able to shoot and record the show as a one-man host without losing the ability to be a host and asking questions. I think we have a nice happy medium setup. The Phetta At Night studio is happily packed with up to 8 cameras, with currently only 6 being in use. We spent all the set costs on the cameras clearly! In the screenshot above you can see what I and the guest see during the show, a nice big monitor to see how things are looking and recording! I still need to set up a LIVE sign, how could I miss that?
Before you head into the set, you can find a nice monitor system for if we ever do get a nice cameraman for our set. We also have some amazing avatar options for users to wear and join the part! I think it would add a nice extra layer to it if it's actual phettaverse characters talking to each other during the show. It's a bit meta eh?
I was lucky enough to be able to have Chasm come onto the set and give me some good test recordings. I think we had a great conversation even for us just testing the setup and seeing what works and what doesn't. I enjoy the feeling of the show and how it will cont. to get better and progress is how it's shot and recorded. I should def edit the test recording we made but I am more excited about recording an official one as well! The main test we did was him being on the quest and still being able to join the interview and show, which luckily worked great!
I'm hoping to schedule some guests before Chasm, as I have him scheduled for the 7th! But we'll see how the tide flows 🙂
That's why I came up with the notion of incorporating a TV Man, who can broadcast a live feed of the visitor to those who don't have their own virtual reality headsets. Using OBS to record the show isn't too complicated; I can even link the shortcuts for the cameras I've set up in-game with obs too!
If someone wants to use NeosVR instead of VRChat, then let's get into my set on that world when I bring the Phetta At Night show to the rest of the Metaverse. I believe that would be my next goal. You can see that there is room for far greater flexibility with regard to the choices. It goes without saying that I'd also create a cute little set in Webaverse. In this manner, we will have a balanced combination of desktop and virtual reality metaverse platforms.
There are a lot of people who don't want to have a Facebook account, thus I'd love for there to be additional solutions available in the VR ecosystem, such as the Quest. Because of their current dominance of the market, it's a bit of a drag. More affordable headsets and less dependency on corporate entities in the sense of needing an entire account to utilize the device are my hopes for the future. We could go a long way in this scene if we didn't have to rely on this. Some food for thought.
