Life Changes, Moving Forward & Boba!

Date

I think I find it very easy to get comfortable in a situation I am in; living in Arizona, where I currently live has been nothing but summed up as fine. I think I had lots of time to explore creative avenues out here and found my voice. Yet after a while I feel like I lose a lot of progress out here, I always want to push myself further, but there is fear that holds me back a lot. Taking the big jump to move to New York is a scary but exciting event. Moving across the united states, in general can be an experience. I've been wanting to move to New York for about 2 years now, I wouldn't be surprised if one of my old blog posts mentioned it as well. I think every time I tried to really make it happen, I was just eaten with fear. I've never moved alone either; that's a good thing to mention. I have always had my brother with me along the journey and my mother who has been there, and I am incredibly grateful for that.

I'm excited to start a new chapter in my life and to explore the possibilities of what I can do in a new city. I'm ready to take on the challenge of moving across the country and seeing what I can make of it. I'm sure it won't be easy, I know there will be moments when I doubt myself, but I'm ready to push through those moments and keep going. There's a certain thrill that comes with taking a leap of faith, and I'm ready to experience it. I'm ready to take on a new challenge and push myself further than ever. I'm ready to explore the creative avenues that I can find in New York and to see what I can make of it. I'm ready to see what the future holds for me and to make the most of this new opportunity.

Even while packing up my whole place, I've also been actively making art. I have just about everything packed up and ready beside my work computer for art, but that will be packed soon. I have been having a ton of fun making a bit more fleshed-out style of music for the Phettaverse and a few new characters I have been creating. I can't speak on two of them as they are for an upcoming project, but I made a new character named Boba!

I named the character Boba after asking the timeline what I should name him. Madworld actually suggested the name, and Trizton aka Alhucard also seconded it, I thought it would be funny because whenever we go out to events or travel I typically get Taro Boba with friends, and it's a cute little inside joke within our friend group.

Wondering what Boba looks like? Well, you can first see how he was sculpted in VR!

You may not be aware, but I have a fascinating and unique approach to creating my characters and worlds – all of them are sculpted in VR using Adobe Substance Modeler! As a huge fan of this cutting-edge tool, I adore the immersive experience VR sculpting provides compared to the limitations of a 2D screen.

When embarking on my creative journey, I rarely have a detailed plan for my characters and creatures. Instead, I revel in the joy of crafting distinct and abstract friends through spontaneous exploration. Once these intriguing beings come to life, I find immense satisfaction in weaving their backstory and history into the ever-evolving and expanding Phettaverse.

My artistic process doesn't involve VR sculpting; I employ advanced techniques like AI and stable diffusion for texturing. I've trained a textual inversion on 35 characters, enabling me to generate even more abstract creations through stable diffusion. While I haven't used this technique extensively, I believe it's an innovative and exciting aspect of my work worth sharing.

After sculpting this captivating character, I sought a unique and imaginative way for Boba to traverse the Phettaverse. Guided by my intuition, I crafted a one-of-a-kind flying platform for Boba to effortlessly glide through the cosmos. This whimsical vehicle perfectly complements Boba's enigmatic presence. To further accentuate the character's vibe, I added a distinctive hand holding a Phetta acid tab – a subtle yet powerful touch that truly brings Boba to life.

Tomorrow I fly to New York and begin my new journey.
