Hello! I'm Emotionull, a multidisciplinary artist from Brooklyn, and the creator of the Phettaverse. My colorful journey includes painting, digital/VR sculpture, NFTs, and fashion design. Art is about building worlds and inviting others inside.
Ever since I was young, art has been my language when words fell short. I started out drawing and painting, using creativity to navigate my emotions. A few years ago, I found myself in Arizona, spending countless hours working on my art in near-isolation. That solitude helped me hone my craft and develop a unique vision, but I soon realized I needed a change of scenery to fuel my growth. Taking the leap to move to New York City was both terrifying and exhilarating. In 2023, I packed my life into boxes and headed to Brooklyn, where the electricity of NYC’s thriving art scene energized me. Surrounded by galleries and creative people, I felt constantly challenged and inspired. Throughout my journey, I’ve explored various mediums. I began with a paintbrush but quickly ventured into digital illustration and VR art, which allowed me to create immersive 3D environments. When the NFT movement emerged, I embraced it as a way to share my VR creations globally. I’ve also ventured into fashion and product design, transforming my art into wearable items and 3D-printed figurines. Whether splashing paint or crafting digital sculptures, my goal remains the same: to bridge the gap between physical and virtual art forms, making imagination something you can step into and carry with you.

At the heart of the Phettaverse is Phetta – a character who started as a sketch and grew into something much more. Phetta is my creative alter ego and the mascot of this universe. But interestingly, he wasn’t always the cheerful cosmic adventurer you might see today. In fact, when I first imagined Phetta years ago, he had a much darker vibe. Originally, Phetta was this gritty, 1980s-inspired detective character in my 2D art emotionull.art – picture a noir-style figure with a trench coat, lurking in neon alleyways. Back then, I was working through a lot of anger and frustration in my life, and Phetta kind of embodied that for me. He came from a place of darkness; I funneled my negative feelings into that character.

Highlights & Milestones
Bringing my inner world out into the real world has led to some incredible experiences. I want to share a few highlights that have marked my journey so far, both for myself and the growing community around the Phettaverse:
DCentralCon, Miami (2021): This was my first time ever showcasing my art in a public event – and also my first time in Miami! I was thrilled (and a bit nervous) to step out of my home studio and into a convention hall. It turned out to be amazing: I met so many fellow artists under the Florida sun and realized that people really connected with what I was creatingemotionull.art. That experience was a game-changer for me; it showed me that the Phettaverse had a place in the wider world.
SXSW, Austin (2022): In 2022, one of my pieces made it to South by Southwest. I actually couldn’t attend the festival in person, but the incredible folks at ForTheTL helped display my art at SXSW on my behalfemotionull.art. Knowing that my work was present at this iconic creative tech festival – even if I was watching updates from afar – was surreal. It felt like the Phettaverse had journeyed to Texas without me, and in doing so, it reached an audience I never expected.
VeeCon (2022): My art was also featured at VeeCon, the NFT-centric conference founded by Gary Vaynerchuk. Once again, I wasn’t able to be there physically (2022 was apparently the year of me teleporting my art to places!). Huge thanks to the Block Party and ForTheTL teams for helping make it happen. Seeing photos and hearing that attendees got to experience my pieces at VeeCon was incredibly rewarding. It reinforced the idea that this digital world I’m building can resonate with people in real-life venues and communities.
NFT.NYC – Zoratopia (2022): This one was really special. NFT.NYC is one of the biggest gatherings for the NFT community, and in 2022 I was part of an event called Zoratopia there. I did attend that one, and I can’t overstate how awesome it was to meet many of my online friends face-to-face. For so long I had been talking to fellow artists and collectors only through Twitter or Discord, and suddenly here we were in New York, shaking hands and hugging and geeking out over art together. My Phettaverse artwork was on display, and I even spotted people recognizing Phetta or wearing Phettaverse-themed gear. It felt like the virtual and physical aspects of my world truly came together in that moment. This event was one for the books – an unforgettable milestone for my community and me.
Art Basel Miami – Unfold x Shillr (2022): To cap off 2022, the Phettaverse made a splash at Art Basel Miami. My work was featured on an art truck as part of an exhibition by Unfold and Shilr– basically a mobile gallery cruising around the city during one of the world’s premier art festivals. It was insane. Art Basel draws huge crowds from all over, and here was my quirky universe riding around on a truck for all to see. The whole week felt like a movie. I remember standing there in Miami, watching people come up to the truck, curiously peeking at these VR sculptures and characters from my imagination. In those moments, the Phettaverse wasn’t just in my head or on a screen – it was out in the streets, making strangers smile and wonder. I’ll forever be grateful for that experience and everyone who helped make it happen.
Each of these milestones means a lot to me – not just as personal achievements, but as proof of how art can connect people. From tech festivals to fine art fairs, the fact that my work has traveled to these places tells me that this project has touched others in some way. It’s both humbling and hugely motivating.

As exciting as the journey has been so far, I truly feel like we’re just getting started. The Phettaverse is continuously expanding, and I have so many ideas bubbling for where it goes next – new characters to introduce, collaborations with other creators, and more immersive experiences for everyone to enjoy. I’m constantly learning and experimenting, whether it’s playing with the latest VR art tools or exploring ways to bring our community together in virtual spaces. One thing I’m particularly passionate about is the community aspect of this adventure. Over time, a vibrant community of fellow dreamers, collectors, and friends has grown around the Phettaverse. It still blows my mind when I hop into a virtual world and someone recognizes my avatar, or when I see a screenshot online of a random metaverse hangout and spot a little Phetta head in the scene. I never expected people to embrace this quirky universe as deeply as I have, but seeing others fall in love with it has been one of the greatest rewards of all. It turns what could have been a lonely endeavor into a shared voyage, and it inspires me to keep building and expanding this world every day.
Looking ahead, my vision is to keep pushing the Phettaverse beyond the horizon. I like to imagine a future where everyone can contribute to this universe – where it’s not just my story, but ours together. In fact, one of my big goals is to empower the community to help shape the lore and add their own stories to the Phettaverse over time. We’ve already seen sparks of this with fan art and little fan-fiction ideas popping up, and nothing makes me happier. The ultimate dream is a living, breathing world that grows through the creativity of many, becoming richer and more engaging than I could make it alone. To that end, I plan to keep rolling out new content and maybe even interactive events where we can all collaborate and play in this universe. From virtual reality meet-ups to maybe one day a full-fledged VR experience or game, I’m open to all possibilities as long as it brings joy and inspiration.
Before I wrap up, I want to speak from the heart: I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey so far. Whether you’ve collected an NFT, attended an event, sent me a message online, or even just enjoyed a piece of art quietly, you’ve contributed to the energy that keeps me going. I mean it when I say that I create this world not just for myself but for all of us. Thank you for believing in a silly artist with a big imagination.
Finally, consider this an open invitation. I hope that others will find as much enjoyment and inspiration in the Phettaverse as I have, and I encourage everyone to explore its many wonders for themselves. Feel free to roam around the site and explore the art – check out the gallery of my creations, meet some of the other characters that inhabit this universe, or read the blog for behind-the-scenes peeks. If something here resonates with you, I’d love for you to join our community. You can connect with me on social media, pop into one of our virtual events, or even just shoot me a hello. This world I’m building is big and weird and full of feelings, and it’s open to anyone looking for a bit of magic.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my world. I’m excited for what’s next, and I’m even more excited to have you along for the ride. Here’s to the journey ahead – let’s paint the cosmos together in the Phettaverse! 🌟
